IoT in your rental units

Hey Guys,

I am a IoT Integrator who primarily sells and installs Nest, Eero, Honeywell, Cujo and moreproducts. I am specifically involved in the residential sector.

One of my big warnings is Cyber Security and keeping praying eyes from having access to IoT devices. I currently am selling Cujo devices to keep entire router networks secure. This all is a huge value add in this constantly changing world of residential automation.

Do you guys agree? What would convince an investor/landlord to put wifi enabled thermostats, connected lighting, audible, wifi enabled smoke/CO detector and other devices in a rental unit or even their own homes.

I appreciate all input.

Cheers,

Andrew

Investors will add items that will generate a higher rent. Market dictates rent therefor upgrades are driven by market demand to stay competitive. I do not see wifi gadgets adding to increased rents.

Bells and whistles do not generally translate to higher rents. Without a return there is no point in adding.
