Cybersecurity in Real Estate, An issue or non-issue?

Hello Everyone! My career for the last 18 years has been in Cybersecurity and Network Engineering. As my investing journey is just starting with 3 properties, I am trying to see where my field provides value to the REI community. This is sort of a poll, but wanted to get feedback from everyone to see if there are Cybersecurity or Networking (IT networking) issues out there in the REI space that needs to be addressed? I'm loving the ability to focus more on REI now a days, but I don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater and try to utilize my talents in the REI space if possible. Thank yall

Hey @Zachery Hitchcox, as a former developer I'm also trying to find that niche in the REI community. I'm relatively new to the game (and this forum) but I have seen in this thread a lot of demand for web scrapers or developing some sort of proprietary database of leads, properties, and contacts from public record.

With that, if people are hosting this information of public information, they may want to ensure it stays protected as well. Many people expand to national DBs as they try and expand the reach of their investments. Moving that much data can become a liability, or if they want to move to actually sell any leads they'll need an extensive network to support that kind of digital footprint.

I think there's definitely a market for someone with your background, and I'd be curious to talk further about ways technology and REI can intersect.
