Finding an Auditor to Audit My Property Manager

I'm an out of state investor with a few properties in both Rochester and Buffalo.  I'm concerned about maintenance and repairs costs that I've been paying and wanted to see if there was a 3rd party audit service available to audit my property manager and their performance.  Any recommendations or introductions are welcomed and appreciated!

Hey Patrick! While I am not in the Rochester and Buffalo market you have alternatives. This comes down to personal opinions as to what is more important and cost efficient. It seems you do not trust your current manager for what ever those reasons are. By hiring another party to see if that party is doing their job might not be the most affordable option. When you hire a property manager – it comes down to trust! That team is protecting your investment and you have the right to ask the tough questions, surrounding your fees. If you are being charged more than you projected, then those conversations should be easy for the property manager if they have the systems in place for their owners to see what is happening via their owner's portal. It seems to me if you have to hire a project manager to manager a property management company . . . yikes! Perhaps if they are not the right fit for you and your portfolio – maybe change is necessary. Perhaps an auditor would be helpful to see how they are performing . . . but this should not be needed time after time. I wish you, your team, and portfolio the best.

Best of Luck!
