Hello all, I am looking for recommendations for local lenders and realtors who work with have experience working with investors. This will be my first home purchase. I'm thinking of going the owner occupied multi family route with fha or trying the house hacking thing with conventional, getting roommates and Airbnb'ing to raise additional capitol. If anybody has had success with open doors, I'd love to hear about that too. I figure I may as well get my financing pre approved and start making the 20 or 30 offers it's gonna take to find that eventual winner. It's gonna be a long summer and fall. :)

You should touch base with @Upen Patel...he is a mortgage loan officer in the area.

Id keep your options open to both situations you mentioned. Multifamily housing exists in very tiny amounts in our area so it is a very competitive area of the market, even compared to our generally competitive market.  A rowhouse with an english basement could also be a good option.
