Real Estate Seminars by TV Personalities

I am just starting to learn about RE investing and I signed up for a free 2 hour seminar to be hosted by a TV personality who flips houses. I know there will be an up sell at the end to get you to buy coaching or whatever from them. Any advice on if this is a good idea to sign up for coaching or should I run the other way?

Thanks,

Barry

@Barry Bradley

If you go, don't take a checkbook or a credit card. Carry only lunch money and nothing more.

You would be better served to spend time building relationships with local active investors. Go to every local REI club and MeetUp you can find. Spend money on a local mentor who knows local laws, customs, trends, etc. and certainly someone who can teach you about marketing, contracts, contract law, title, etc.

There's a reason everyone on TV is hawking their get rich quick program...there is a very gullible crowd waiting for someone to take their money.
