Roof Repairs in DFW?

Hello everyone,

For those who own property in DFW at what point do you replace your roof?

I had a repair request because part of my fence was blown down from a recent storm. I asked the PM to have the roof inspected as well. There is some damage but it isn't leaking. He said due to the severity of one of the recent storms that it would probably be covered by insurance.

Is it normal to wait for a large storm and have the roof repaired/replaced and go through your insurance company?

Thanks
