Hi everyone!

retirement and where to retire it is definately a topic to discuss....

and it seems that Mexico is the #1 choice to many Americans....

Why?... for the fact that it is a neighbor country, friendly people, it requires a very low income to live there...

within the next 10 years 78 million "Baby Boomers" will retire and at least half will not have enougth money to continue living in the USA.

Let's look at the options.... continue lving in the USA with little or no money..... depending on relatives and other institutions....

Or living in Mexico, enjoying and living a decent life...

Mexico is now the home to thousands of Americans and Canadians.... and I can name a particular spot that the mayority of people living there are Americans.

I am sure that you have many questions concerning this topic, and I welcome your questions and comments.....

questions such as ...

can foreigners own real estate property in Mexico?

is it safe to purchase real estate in Mexico?

what about property taxes?

how much will it cost me to build a house there?

financing to purchase Mexican real estate?

etc. etc. etc.

thank you very much and looking forward to your questions and imput to this subject....

During my broader travels, courtesy of the US Navy, I saw many cultures outside our borders. Pretty much all of the Pacific Rim and Indian Ocean. In my business life, I had many occasions to visit Mexico, and know Expats that prefer Mexico, and have lived there for years.

If you leave our borders, there are just differences. Security, medical, technology, opportunity, environmental, civil rights, and equality (especially for women) are just not as they are in the US. At the same time, Americans are treated like royalty in Mexico and the gaps listed above are getting smaller all the time.

So, why wouldn't more retirees consider Mexico instead of Arizona? It's just a matter of time before more of the richest people on earth will decide they can retire anywhere in the world they want.

Me, I've often dreamed of a 50ft schooner, island hopping in the South Pacific. Paradise for pennies, and a number are US (American Samoa), British or Australian possessions.
