Amazing visual of 20 yrs of house prices in every US city

Came across this pretty neat visualization of home price trends over the last 20 years for major US markets (compiled by Avison Young, using Zillow data).

TL/DR: West coast cities lead the pack on total appreciation, and are driving US average home price trend overall. The rust belt have slower appreciation. Nothing really ground breaking here, but it was still neat to see it all presented this way. 

As an investor in Austin, it's surreal to see the sharp uptick since 2014. What do others think about this data?
