Would like to get connected

I am going to be moving to the outskirts or Salem in the next month. Specifically Gates, OR on the Santiam river. I would like to start digging into the Salem market and really begin to get some what of a grasp on it. Where are the best areas I see a tons of houses listed at a lower price point and it seems like a market that may be a good fit.

I am a portlandtonian since birth and am very familiar with it but i would like to start getting into my new local market. I know about the monthly NW REIA meeting but I don't know if there are any other resources out there or possibly some investors looking for someone to hang on their curtails and try and provide some value.

I'm educated and very intelligent and also have a knack for computers and customer relations. Just want to learn and jump in with both feet.  And I make decent income with my current profession and have a great credit profile.
