Pets but not the usual kind

I cant believe ive never thought of this but here we go.I just had a great phone conversation with a potential tenant. He did mention though his roommate had a 2 ft snake though. Now im not too sure what to say about this. I do have a no pet policy because well dogs destroy stuff cats pee everywhere and birds may be some of the most dirtiest animals there is. A snake in a tank though that doesn't sounds like much. My gut is saying its fine but my inexperience is saying ask bigger pockets. Can anyone shine some light on this. What do you do for small pets like reptiles hamsters Etc.
