Which cities are war zones?
I cursorily researched all of the Cuyahoga cities based on which ones Rebogateway had on their site for leads when I bought a list. My research involved mainly the crime and unemployment rates listed on city-data.com and neighborhoodscout.com. In the end, I classified the following cities as war zones, but I'm hearing that some investors don't consider them as such.
Which cities in Cuyahoga county are considered war zones by most investors? Here are the ones with higher than usual crime and unemployment.
- Bedford
- Bedford Heights
- Brooklyn
- Cleveland (Proper)
- East Cleveland
- Euclid
- Garfield Heights
- Glenwillow
- Highland Hills
- Maple Heights
- Newburgh Heights
- North Randall
- Oakwood Village
- Richmond Heights
- South Euclid
- University Heights
- Warrensville Heights
- Woodmere

That's a pretty wide brush your research spit out. I live in the largest and supposedly scariest city on that list. The most common crime in our neighborhood the last few years has been carried out by suburban junkies who come into the neighborhood, break into vehicles, and get caught.
Rather than classifying areas containing 600,000+ inhabitants as war zones, go for about a 2 hour drive around Cuyahoga county and verify for yourself.
