3. Olmsted Falls: Crime dropped from 104 in 2012 to 29 in 2013. There were no reports of arson, rape, murder, robbery or car theft.

5. Seven Hills: With a "thriving modern police force," less than one tenth of one percent of all crimes were violent ones.

6. Brecksville: Violent crime reports went from four in 2012 to one in 2013, and property crime decreased from 84 to 64.

9. New Franklin: The report notes Portage Lakes State Park's "premier recreation opportunities" and the municipality's community policing program that helped reduce property crimes, burglaries and larceny from 2012 to 2013.

7. Broadview Heights: The city's "safe streets, excellent public education and neighborly atmosphere" earned it a top spot on the list.
