Charlotte NC BIC For Real Estate Investor

Hey everybody,

I am a recently licensed real estate agent. I have been building my flipping and residential investing business and would like to gain access to the MLS and National Association of Realtors. In order for my license to be "active" I need to affiliate with a broker in charge. I am not planning to sell houses for others, but would like to be able to list my flipped properties myself with the firm. Does anyone have any recommendations for good firms/brokers in charge in the Charlotte area that could help me with this? Thanks in advance!

@William Allen Of course it depends.  But it sounds like you already have some experience as an agent, so I'd say you have two options besides a local brick and mortar:

  1. A 100% commission flat fee brokerage. Little support, but max commissions on your own deals. I don't personally know any in the area, but a google search yields a few immediately.
  2. A value-based brokerage that provides support, training, and equity/cash flow opportunities, but doesn't charge big fees (and also gives agents 100% commission on 3 personal transactions a year - including investments).  This is where I ended up and it's an option for you as well.

I know an agent who is trying to invest and their broker is telling them to pay their typical 50% commission.  Insanity.
