Is it a good time to buy a Single Family Home now or rent?

I'm relocating to Las Vegas from LA for various reasons and plan to start my investing in the area.  I plan to rent for about 6 months to really get situated and learn more about the different areas to decide where I would like to invest.  My question is for those who are already in the area investing...

How is the current state of the real estate market in Las Vegas and do you think that there is a possibility that prices will actually drop lower than increase...  Basically, should I buy sooner than later?

Thank you!

@Joseph Y.

I am an investor wholesaler in the Las Vegas market and always finding deals. I normally don't answer loaded questions such as yours because I really believe that in order to find out about a market it is best to get in it. If you are already moving to Vegas than the only thing you need to target is what kind of investing you wish to do. Because of opinions such as @Neil Henderson, people feel like the market has low inventory not a lot of people are taking action. The markets are what you make them in my opinion. However asking people about the market is just as much of a gamble as going down to the strip and asking which slot machine is doing the best or which table can I win on. Jump in, take the risk and run your business by the numbers and not others opinions, including my own. I hope this helps.
