What are the benefits of tax lien sales?
I've been looking into tax lien sales here in Columbus, OH as well as near Mansfield, OH. What are the downsides to actually investing in the tax liens specifically aside from what laws are in place in regards to the actual purchase. What is the risk? I believe we have an 18% interest for tax lien sales here.
Actually foreclosing on the property is a secondary goal. Right now I'm just looking at paying the property taxes plus what other fees and making money from the interest.
Any help is very much appreciated. Also, let me know if i need to clarify anything!

If they go unredeemed, BOOM I have a house for Very little money. If I were to do my homework on the properties and assess what my MAO would be, bidding wouldn't be too bad in a small country county here in Ohio rather than Columbus.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the interest rates, a flat rate that doesn't change? As in a preset amount?
Im just trying to completely understand! Love the clarification!
