H&R Block or Turbo Tax for small scale landlord?
I do have professional help but I also want to do my own tax calculations this year. As a landlord with only a few self managed properties, I put my hands on an H&R Block version recommended for rental properties. In general it works pretty well, but to my surprise it does not offer a provision to amortize loan origination costs and bank appraisal to be amortized over the loan duration. Even three H&R Block members of the help line had nothing to offer. Before I venture further into this endeavor, I was wondering if other landlords have used alternative software like Turbo Tax with better success.
