Buying a Abandoned/Vacant That Property Taxes Have Been Sold
I’m new to real estate purchases and only have 2 properties that currently own. There’s a vacant land/home that I am currently eyeing. The owner died in 2020 from what records I can find. Researching the property on county property tax inquiry website it says the “Property Taxes Sold” for 2020-2023. I am able to find the investment company (I assume) that purchased the taxes and found their contact in for. How would I go about acquiring this property? Any help would be appreciated! I’ve talked with a few local realtors who haven’t been super helpful. Central Illinois.

Try and contact the family.
See if there was a probate started.
You could offer to pay to pay back taxes and redeem property for family so person who bought lien doesn't end up with property.
