Aluminum Wiring, Fuse Boxes...and Insurance

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking at purchasing a flip in Michigan built in 1960. Upon previewing the home I discovered that it does have a fuse box instead of a breaker box. I could not confirm or deny if the home had aluminum wiring- it's 1960 construction date falls a bit before the typical mid 60's-late 70s dates for aluminum, so I suspect it does not but you can never be too careful. In Florida, where I currently flip, insurers will not even come close to aluminum wiring- no prior experience with fuse boxes.

How do insurers in Michigan handle both fuse boxes and aluminum wiring?

What age homes have you guys found aluminum in?
