Thinking about leaving my job as a construction superintendent (pretty well payed) to become a firefighter as way to be able to spend more time working in real estate. Thoughts?

Stay where you are. There is no reason to change jobs to get into investing.
Fire fighting is more along the line of a career than a job. Stick with the job.
