Squatters smashed my sliding glass door

Soooo, yeah squatters broke in and threw a mini party. Luckily, I’ve established enough of a rapport with the guy next door that he texted me, and let me know what was going on. My insurance company doesn’t open until 9:00, but I’m the meantime I’m scrambling to try and get this repaired/replaced.

Does anyone have any recommendations as far as contractors/sliding door guys?

Is there a way to post pictures on here from my phone?

Any and all input is welcomed. Thanks!

First thing. Half inch plywood.

It's nearly reasonable to assume that if the sliding glass door is broken, the entire frame is coming out. At least I would assume that, but you didn't really specify how bad they broke the door. Therefore, I'd get 1/4 inch lag bolts and drive them through the plywood right into the door frame to secure the property while you find a contractor.

Since I have no idea about your area, I'd start at Home Depot/Lowe's. Just start talking to people, customers, employees, whomever. I generally ambush someone I think to be a contractor (full cart of building materials), who looks professional and organized.
