Newbie needs help running REI analysis on SFHs

Sean Dolan
Posted

Hello all,

I'm brand new to the REI game, about two months in, and I'm struggling to come up with realistic rents for some of the houses at which I'm currently looking. I understand that most SFHs aren't good for cashflow starting out, but because of the rising value for homes it makes setting the rent tricky. If anyone can post some of the rents that they put out for some starter homes as a baseline, I would appreciate it.

Thank you,

Sean

It depends on the location and where you live. In the midwest, Rent is a ton cheaper than living in LA. I would recommend using Rentometer to find an estimate of the rental prices in your area.
