Usury? Contractor charges 2% a month on his work

To me, it's just too much. My contractor's invoice is due upon receipt. 2% a month interest starting on the 10th day. That's 24% a year!!!! Way, way to much in my opinion. What do you think? Thank.

or just pay him when you get the bill... = 0% interest. You weren't planning on waiting a year to pay after the work was done were you?
He's probably just tired of waiting for deadbeat investors to pay up.
