Allure flooring: have you had seams fail, and why?

I'm having a difficult time deciding between Allure and the click vinyl planks like Ultra. I've installed a 4mm click vinyl plank from Lowe's in a kitchen and its been as good as the regular laminate I've laid lots of, but the glue strip spooks me as a complete unknown. I've had Trafficmaster PSA vinyl tiles peel up pretty badly. I know a lot of people her like Allure, I want to hear what can go wrong.

This install is in a 3 floor stairwell where I'm planning on using aluminum nosing and quarter rounds to hold it on the treads and risers, and aluminum transition strips to end the hallway flooring short of the balusters. This kind of rules out the 6" strips, I don't want a failing joint to trip someone on the stairs! So I would use 12" by either 24" or 36".
