I’m in the process of removing 30+ year old carpet and putting in new floors in our bedrooms. I have a few questions.

Vinyl plank or laminate?

Which is better and why?

Water proof or water resistant?

What will last longer and still be good yrs from now ?

* this is not for an investment property, this is for my primary residence *

@Jeremy Torres personally I think for a primary residence that you are fine either way. Laminate floors hold up fine, but they get destroyed in rentals due to water. In your own home you will take care of them and they hold up the same as LVP if you don't get them wet.
