Need some Help/Advice Please

Hello, I've been flipping houses with the same contractor for awhile now. The problem is, he is not the actual contractor. He has a contractor who "trusts" him to pull permits for him and I pay him directly. My concern would be if I ever get sued, and they track that I have been paying my guy who has been using his contractor to pull licenses, I think that wouldn't look good. Any advice or is this ok to do? Thank you.

If you are knowingly hiring an unlicensed contractor to do the work, and your contract is with that person, I wouldn't be so sure that "all responsibility is on them."

Greg used too many pronouns in his post for me to be sure who he has a contract with, who he pays, who is doing the work, who is pulling permits, and which contractor works for the other, but something tells me there may be an issue here.
