Water Leak, big bills...
Hi everyone, I have a five-unit building; there appears to be a water leak somewhere (the water bill is over $300 where it's usually around $90). Apart from broken toilet flaps/faucets, I'm assuming it's somewhere in the underground waterline. Apart from paying a plumber some exorbitant rate, does anyone have any suggestions?
Best,
Steve Sloane.

Thank you all who responded; I've checked all toilets, shower heads, faucets, water heaters and looked for wet spots, etc. Three toilets needed new flaps, though of course the real acid test will be my next bill - then I'll know if the status quo has been restored. Funny really, a small rubber flap worth a few dollars taking hundreds of dollars out of my pocket. I guess the lesson to learn is to check all flaps every six months or so.
