Stinky drain and mice urine in drop down ceiling. Help!

Hello!

I just purchased a 4/2 in St. Paul and was wondering if you guys can offer some suggestions. First, my bathroom downstairs stinks and I really want the smell to go away.

During inspection period we heard a mouse running around in the drop ceilings in the bathroom so I was told that the smell is most likely mice urine and poop soaked into the drop down. I do believe that because when I lifted a ceiling tile a bunch of mouse droppings fell. I put traps around the house as well as in the ceiling. My plan was going to clean out the top and replace the drop down tiles? Thoughts on this

But then I thought that maybe the smell was because the shower drain smelt bad. The person living before me said he never used the downstairs shower so its possible that the pipes smell from not being used? Any suggestions to get that drain smelling normal again?

@Bobby Esposito before removing and replacing the ceiling I would figure out where the mice are coming in and seal them off from the outside and set boxes outside to trap any looking to get in. You don’t want them to start chewing things up after you put in a new ceiling.
