Cheapest natural material flooring

I'm looking for suggestions for the cheapest, most pleasing natural material floor coverings. The house is a slab 3/2. I'm looking to replace about 800 sf of carpeting in the main living area (combo dining/living with open kitchen) and entryway and hallway. There is acceptable tile in kitchen area, and for the time being I'll be redoing the bedrooms with carpet.

What's the best price you've been able to get for hard woods or tile including labor? House is a 1995 SFH and interior has generic condo feel...not a lot of architectural elements, except pitched open ceiling in living room. All suggestions welcome. Thanks

What ever you use, get plenty for future repairs. Had tile in a basement where a 1/3 were cracked from bar bells/weights being dropped by a highschool heeeman. You'll never match dye lots years later, if you can find the style at all. Good luck on your project....
