H clips to sheathing joints???

The buyer's inspector states I must apply "H clips" to sheathing joints in an attic.
Anyone know what he is talking about?
Am I allowed to contact him to discuss?

That's strange! Unless it's a code requirement (like a hurricane thing) for the year of the property, you don't need to do it at all! Sounds like the inspector needs to earn his money and finds something to require. I'd suggest you have your buyer get another opinion.

The clips need to be put on as built, they slide on the edge of the plywood and the next sheet slides into the clip, some are nailed from either side but usually from the top, so you'd almost need to tear off the roof! That's silly!!!

Yes, you can contact that inspector and put his feet to the fire as to how that would be done and why if it was not required when constructed.
