Blown In Insulation In Walls

HI,

I'm looking to rehab a house in northern Minnesota. It is currently rented out and the tenants pay a ridiculous amount of money in heating the place in the winter. Does anyone have any experience with blown in insulation into the walls.

What are the best ways to insulate a house that was built with little to no insulation in the 1940's?

You will get better results blowing it into the ceiling.

Insulating old wall cavities that were not designed to be insulated can lead to serious moisture problems.

If the heat is electric then that is your biggest problem.
