Bathroom remodel: 3/4 vs full

I’m remodeling a master bathroom. I’m contemplating installing a three-quarter bath with just a shower as opposed to a full bath with the bath tub. My thought is a nice full shower might be more attractive than a bathtub. There is another full bath in the house. Is one better than the other for resale? Will one be more appealing to buyers?

Having a bathtub is generally important for families with kids so I would recommend keeping the full bath for the common area.  Then I would build your big walk-in shower in the master bath as the 'show stopper' for the adults.

This is of course, assuming building a walk-in shower is within your budget and makes sense for comps in the area.

Assuming you are not doing a major reconfiguration of the floor plan it's really not that much more expensive (maybe a few thousand?) to build-out a walk-in shower as opposed to installing a bathtub, so a walk-in shower could be a feature that set's you apart from your competition for a relatively cheap investment...just don't over-do it!
