Heating method for rental
I have a rental in Rochester New York, the house is on a slab and from what I have read you can’t have an HVAC or boiler on a slab. The house has baseboard electric heat throughout but it seems to not be efficient and runs up the electric bill dramatically. Honestly the baseboard heat looks to be very old and they do produce heat but not much. Does anybody on BP know of a better option or maybe a product they have found to be useful? Thanks in advance for the help!

Derek, that 3ft is perfectly fine to get ductwork installed and if you can find a spot to hide a furnace that'd be perfect. A 1017sqft house needs about 50-60 BTU per square foot to maintain a 75 degree temp in the coldest of winters. A 60k BTU heater can be purchased for about $700. All in with labor from a contractor you might be able to get ductwork, floor vents, and a furnace for under $5,000.
