help with doorknob removal

Amit Chand
Posted

Long story short, the door knob pictured will not open. I need to get it off. Having just replaced two door knobs I thought this would be an easy task. I thought wrong.

The door knobs I replaced had screws on the inside part of the door. I just had to unscrew the two screws holding them in place and I was done.

This door knob doesn't have screws anywhere that I can see. How do I get it off? The door is located in the garage so maybe that's why it's different.

@Amit Chand Look at the 3rd photo.  There's a little slot with a silver piece in there.

I reserve the right to be wrong, but I think if you push that piece in, it will release the mechanism.
