I tried to just simply write it out @soandso but that didn't do the blue link text thing. I looked for a how to forum area here but couldn't find it.

I managed to take the actual handled part off, but the plates is still on. The door knob wasn't working so I wasn't able to open it up to access the latch area which would make the process easier. I don't see any screws :(

Any ideas for how I should proceed?

I will try to pry the plates off. I didn't want to cave man it because I thought there should be some sort of mechanism.

Here are a couple of pics that show something...

Long story short, the door knob pictured will not open. I need to get it off. Having just replaced two door knobs I thought this would be an easy task. I thought wrong.

The door knobs I replaced had screws on the inside part of the door. I just had to unscrew the two screws holding them in place and I was done.

This door knob doesn't have screws anywhere that I can see. How do I get it off? The door is located in the garage so maybe that's why it's different.
