Finding Quality Laborers

After doing smaller projects on our homes, we've taken on a larger rehab.  We have subs lined up for electrical and plumbing, but need to find laborers to help us with the construction.  Anyone have tips where they find people and how they vet people?

A guy you pay $15.00/hr to knows almost nothing through they may appear to by the way they hussle and swing a hammer but trust me a trained laborer will produce good quality work and a lot more for you. A trained laborer needs to do his work once and you can trust they will do it right. I know I have run projects for many years and using cheap labor actually ends up cost 3 times as much and take twice as long. Usually there are labor unions just about in any city and you can source any labor you want for them and you can trust you will be getting the best available but like anything else you get what you pay for.
