Sweat Equity treatment?
Hello all! I am currently househacking and doing some work on my own property aka putting in sweat equity. My question is: what is the treatment of my labor for for tax purposes? For example, if I paid a subcontractor to do some work on my home, I would then be able to depreciate their labor and material costs... could I do the same thing for my own time? Looking to legitimately increase my basis for depreciation and selling basis. Thanks in advance!
