Water Control Feedback - Adjacent Property Drains to My Crawlspace and Mold Observed
I'm moving forward with an MF purchase in C+ area. Adjacent property pitches towards back of my house, water enters crawlspace, and mold was observed.
I can remediate by providing a large trench drain at entry point or by creating a wall to stop water from entering my property. The latter will flod my neighbor's area.
The reason the water drains to my building is because there is no other drain within his existing driveway. I don't think this is considered natural flow.
The solution should be for my neighbor to provide drainage within his property.
Have you experience such discussion in Chicago?
Here is an interesting article. The "Common Enemy Rule" sounds good to me and it's cheaper.
