Need advice for hoarder house
I am showing a house to a client. They are looking to live in the home rather than flip it. It's a hoarder house, but the best possible hoarder house. No cats!
The guy is a raging alcoholic. At least 75% of the piles of stuff is Jack Daniels and beer bottles. The remainder is pizza boxes and plastic cups. No cats, no rotting food, no visible bugs, no bad smells. But the pizza boxes are stacked one on top of the other, instead of just thrown about. The glass bottles have the lids on them, and are intact, rather than thrown all over. No broken glass I could see.
The neighbor came home while we were leaving, and she said she's never seen him take out the garbage in the 6 years she's lived next door. Waist to armpit high.
What do I need to look for and caution my buyers about? We can't do a home inspection, so we're making a bottom of the barrel offer to compensate for anything we may find after clean out.
Any estimates on what it would cost to trash out? It's about 2500 square feet, but it's mostly recycling.
Any tips for trash out? It is literally recycling and a few garbage bags. They buyers would ideally like to work with the recycling company to recycle as much as possible.
Has anyone ever used 1-800-Got-Trash or similar?
It's in Fort Collins, CO if that helps. @Stuart Birdsong, any chance you have experience with this?
