buying leads from company?

anyone ever buy leads from a company?

apparently this company sells leads all around the usa. $600 in LA, $80 in my county since nobody is doing it in my area. i found this company on my own, they did not find me.

any idea what the conversion rate is on these?  obviously it depends on the investor and how well they do when speaking with sellers.  but has anyone ever tried this?
