Hardwood Warping Question

We are at a house previewing it, and we notice warping hard wood floors. It'a pretty bad and it looks like waves. There is a crawl space below. What could be the problem? Any insights? The rest of the house looks really good with a few minor things, mostly paint and carpet and some small water damage. What could be going on with the hardwood? Thanks so much!

There's moisture getting in somewhere -- that's what's warping the floors.  The question is where?  Was there a leak above?  Was there a flood on those floors at some point that wasn't cleaned up quickly?  Is moisture coming up from underneath?

Find the source of the water and repair it.  And you'll likely need to replace the floors as well (if they can't just be sanded)...but do that AFTER the moisture issue is remediated.
