Work in progress

Now that our one tenant is out (*insert big sigh here*) we are able to get some repairs done quickly.

I'm so pumped, we've discovered that the front of this duplex MIGHT have clapboard underneath the siding. We HATE siding, I find it so unattractive and prefer more natural exteriors. We were going to do board and batten BUT that may change with the new find.

New supports on porch and new stairs are in the plans.

If the clapboard is in good shape (it's been covered for over 25 yrs according to the upper tenant who used to own the duplex-she had no idea what was under the siding) I'm going to use a good quality oil based paint-any recommendations on brands and colours.

I'm constantly looking at house fronts to come up with ideas.

It has to stand up to our cold winters.
