What areas of Chicago are seeing gentrification?  How are areas like Oak Park, Humphrey Park and Garfield Park?

  •  Oak Park is a well established area & doesn't need or qualify as an area for gentrification
  • .Humboldt Park is being gentrified.  Some great pockets right on the edge of some not so great pockets.  Great article a few months ago about a family saying they may be forced to leave because the crime on their block is too low & it's driving up prices.
  • Garfield Park- Long way to go.
  • Pilsen is being gentrified.  Residents of Pilsen are actively fighting it but their loosing.
  • Avondale- hot, hot, hot
  • Bridgeport- happening

Here's a link to a report about Gentrification in the Chicago area.  I'd use it w/ caution though as it reflects neighborhood changes thru 2010.
