On the go health/nutrition for the busy investor/businessman/woman
This is a little out of the box but I thought I would throw it out there anyways...
I feel a lot of times when people are going after their dreams of being a success in business and investing they often neglect a very important aspect of life, HEALTH. I believe good solid nutrition will only enhance your productivity and enjoyment of your accomplishments. So often I see people with all this money and success, but their health is deteriorating. When you reach your goals wouldn't it be a necessity to have your health so you can enjoy your achievements for a long time with your loved ones? At least I think so. So how do we achieve this with our busy life styles???

Jon - Krav Maga is great.
I still enjoy the martial arts but I have always leaned toward practical self defense aspects versus tournament sparring.
I put more value in not being dead on the streets versus point sparring and getting a trophy. The martial arts helps kids in so many other respects than just the self-defense application so it's not all bad.
With the arts you have to train for a very long time to take complex movements and make them part of your natural reaction process. Most people do not practice enough (few times a week only) to be that effective at it. With Krav in a fight or flight situation you are using gross motor skills and basic movements to defend yourself. The gun disarms are the same from multiple angles etc.
Just make sure your daughter understands this will be no holds barred in many cases. You need that sense of realism as it could help save her life one day. Often an attacker has a pre- meditated thought to do harm with no remorse. You have to go to that place yourself when you take them out. If you think or feel bad you might end up dead. The key is to asses any situation. An idiot by himself who is just drunk with no weapons you can takeout peacefully. If there are three people and one or any has a weapon I am going to have to take their life over mine if I can't get away first.
You always want to try and get away with your conditioning. If one still catches up to you then you have reduced the number of attackers. The arts isn't about being bad @ss or taking people out etc. Most fights last under 20 seconds and contrary to the movies one to two properly placed strikes can take someone out unless they are hyped up on drugs or other stimulants. I always want to try to get away from a situation. Fighting is the last option. I would encourage your daughter to take the training just do not let her try to get out of it later as it really is beneficial but can be too real for some too handle at first.
