Book recommendations for Real Estate Market Research
Hey folks,
From my education so far, successful REI seems to based on location, location, location, and buying according to the market the home is in. The latter has been the topic that I've had a hard time finding reading sources on that I find credible.
Does anyone have any book recommendations to learn the general real estate market things to keep an eye out for (market trends. Neighbourhood conditions, desirable amenities, etc)? I appreciate what you can share and thanks for the consideration.

@Cara Kennedy I haven't yet read any on market fundamentals alone. Yet, Brandon Turner's "The Book on Rental Property Investing" has great content regarding the subject with Chapter 8 aptly titled "Location, Location, Location.
"Long Distance Real Estate Investing", by David Greene is also a great book as it focuses on markets in chapter 6 and 7 according to trends and kpis in markets to look for. If you are looking into apartment or multifamily investing, Joe Fairless's "The Best Ever Apartment Syndication Book" is a wealth of information and specifically, Chapter 15 covers a, "Six Step Market Evaluation Process" which is spot on for almost any property type.
In general, unemployment, population, landlord/business friendly markets, rent growth, job diversity, population age, supply/demand, cap rates and price per unit are some good items to look at when selecting a market. DM and I would be happy to share a blog link on market selection on these indicators as well. Hope that helps!
