Being a blessing later self delusion
I have noticed over the years quiet a number of very ambitious investors talk about how they will give to charity at the end of their life. Why do so many people act like they will be a blessing one day when they’re too self-absorbed and selfish to be a blessing today?

Joe I would like to comment on this.
There are different ways to help charity, does not always mean to give money you can donate time as well or other meaningful things.
For me as I was studying what charities to support what I kept seeing is to much bloat or over head at the top and not enough of the donations getting to where they actually are needed. It really opened my eyes to this.
So I decided to start aheroshome.org Where I would get fellow BP members ( which I did ) and we would all work for the cause and 100% of the donated money would go to the charity in this case We bought home in Memphis and recently gave it away to our hero Family . So not only did we donate our time and efforts but the core group of us put the first actual cash into the charity to seed it and get it going.
What I learned is there is intense competition for charitable giving. I was approached numerous times by folks that said hey we can raise the money my fee is going to be X to help you do that. So we ground it out Myself by giving 30 to 45 minute private consultations to BP members for a modest donation and out of the 200k we raised I think we got about 100k of this through my efforts and the other members of my group.
But what put us over the top was BP allowing us to present our charity at their BP con and myself and other BP members also offered their time with private consulting and trips to meet with these top end investors in person etc etc.
So huge shout out to @Scott Trench and @Mindy Jensen for allowing us to be on stage and of course their staff who organized it for us.
So for me I felt very good about what we all did and what we accomplished. And came to realize charity like most things in the US is big business . And very tough to do.
