Coaching/Guru

So I have done a lot of reading on BP and the general consensus is anti guru. I was recently contacted by the Rich dad coaching program and actually had a phone "interview" this morning with a coaching recruiter. The interview basically was all about committing now, we'll walk you through and paying us is "good debt". I am fine with taking on debt, or leverage, to go into a a deal. However I am not comfortable throwing 5k at a coaching program that doesn't have a proven track record and only offers "coaching" over the phone. Any thoughts from my local San Diegonites?

Levi,

You don't have to be from San Diego to answer this question. The big question will be is the benefit you'll gain from coaching through their program going to make you a better investor and eventually pay for itself? Do you currently have any deals that you need coaching on or for? Have you tried other channels to find mentorship? What do you feel will make you the most successful going forward?

I not a fan of coaching programs for something that I can learn right here on Bigger Pockets. If you have a question you are currently part of a group of thousands of extremely skilled investors who will do their best to provide you an answer based on their 'personal experience'. Personal experience is the best teacher though. Best of Luck to you and your future endeavors!

Stuart
