Hi, I am buying a Duplex and want to know if I can convert part of one of the units to Junior ADU? I know we can build additional ADU on the land but I do not have space but one of the units is very large and I want to convert it to a unit plus Junior ADU.

Hi @Fred Bastan, You cannot do a JADU on an existing multifamily, but you can do multiple ADU's or a "Movable Tiny Home" (MTH) + ADU's. It sounds like you could currently squeeze (1) attached ADU out of your property, but there are avenues for detached ADU's/MTH's depending on the space available on site.
