Has anyone been to the foreclosure auctions that take place at the Norwalk courthouse steps (although now they appear to be at the Doubletree Hotel in Norwalk)? If so, what was the experience like? Did you buy anything?

@Sam M.

If you go they are very friendly and have classes if you were interested in learning more about the process. You can just go and sit in as a guest to see what the homes you are interested in may go for. When we went it was easy to see that a lot of the ones we had interest in were selling well over what we would have wanted to pay for them.. but it really depends on what your numbers are and what you are looking to accomplish.

If you are curious the best thing to do is to go in as a guest, but do some due diligence online for the properties you would buy yourself and see what they end up going for. Often times the properties you are interested in won't actually go for auction that day. The foreclosure process can be very long.. But there are properties being sold every time they hold the auctions.. so people are buying.
