Turnkey or buy and hold

I am new to realestate investing. I plan to buy my first property before the year is out. I notice some turn key companies (norida, roofstock) Wanted some opinions on buying turnkey or buying and rehabbing myself. By the way I'm looking to invest outside my home state.

Thanks in advance friends.

@Account Closed just mentioned something more important.  Either the turnkey provider or your team is more important than the market.  The right team or provider can make you money in nearly any investable market.  However, the market can't make up for a bad team or provider.
