Small Vent Air System to Save Energy in Older Homes
I'm an REI in Tucson, AZ. I love midcentury homes, but we all know how energy inefficient they are with the floor to ceiling windows and flat roofs... I'm considering finding homes that just have swamp coolers and putting in small duct air systems for their energy savings and ability to help them compete with newer builds. These systems allow the homeowner to have the thermostat set 10 degrees higher than a traditional ac and have it feel the same temp, without drafts, hot or cold spots and large duct openings. Have any of you seasoned investors used systems? In a home that otherewise would be a small flip, could this be the item that helps it compete with newer builds. No additional duct work needed, able to use in houses like Eichler, flat roof homes. Trying to think of things to increase BPO in single family houses.
